Aurland, located in the western part of Norway, is where the mountains meets the fjords in a jawdropping way . Right next to Aurland you´ll find Flåm, which is one of the places cruiseliners stop during their tour of the fjords in Norway. If you are not into hiking Flåm is famous for the railroad Flåmsbanen, heading up the mountainside. It is definitely one of the most beautiful ways to view nature in this area.
The World Heritage fjord; Nærøyfjorden is described by National Geographic as the world’s most beautiful fjord – and rightly so. You can hike for hours in this area exploring valleys and waterfalls, or keep the fjords in sight at all times. Whatever you choose, you will most definitely be impressed.
In Loen, Nordfjord, you will find it all; hiking, biking, Via Ferrata or perhaps skiing on northern Europe`s largest glaciers. This beautiful region in Vestland county, really attracts adventurous couples. If you feel like staying grounded, Lovatnet with it´s stunning turqouise colour is a must see. Prefer mountain views without hiking? The Loen Skylift will take you up to the clouds in minutes.
The Geirangerfjord with the famous waterfall The Seven Sisters, is quite magical. This fjord carves through the mountains leaving near-vertical drops on both sides. Hidden in these mountains you can find remote old farm with views unlike others. There are beautiful trails you can hike for hours and viewpoint hidden were you can say your vows in private. Steep cliffs and magical waterfalls – Norway`s most famous waterway.
In the region of Rauma, you will find spectacular mountains and peeks drizzled with snow, even in the summertime. The peaks here are regal and pointy which leaves a dramatic impression. Here you will also find the famous mountain road; Trollstigen or The Trolls Ladder. The perfect backdrop for your elopement in Norway.
Lyngsalpene or The Lyngen Alps are a mountain range in the northeastern part of Norway. Take the drive through scenic surroundings to Lyngen – a perfect Arctic road trip. Whether you love extreme sports or want to experience fresh and fun activities, Lyngen has it all. The pointy mountians that stretch along the fjord, blue glaciers and wild nature experiences constantly amazes. This is a jewel between Tromsø and Alta is an area perfect for an arctic elopement.
Lofoten, also referred to as the Lofoten Islands has some of the most amazing locations in Norway. Wherever you look there is a view worth taking a picture of, and the calm feeling you get from beeing here leaves you wanting more. The mountains, magical sunsets, hidden beaches and the light ranging from midnight sun to the northern lights. This definitely will create the perfect backdrop for your elopement.
Far North, you will find the peninsula of Senja. The scenic roads, wrapped in mountains and fjords – Senja can simply be called a fairytale.
